Caius has a strong sporting tradition, and graduates are encouraged to take full advantage of the excellent facilities the College has to offer. The beautiful playing fields on Barton Road are home to Caius’ football, rugby, netball and cricket teams, in addition to housing squash and tennis courts, which are available for play all year round. The main College website has plenty of information on sports at Caius.

We consistently perform strongly in intercollegiate competitions, with graduates playing major roles in recent successes. Whatever your sport, or your ability, Caius has a team for you! Or, should you prefer to move to the beat of your own drum, there is also a well-equipped gym at Harvey Court available to all students for an annual fee of £10, administered by the Head Porter at Harvey Court.

In addition to formal sport, the Sport Officers organise numerous events throughout the year, for sports aficionados and amateurs alike!

Rowing

Caius Boat Club is the largest Sports team in Caius, with more freshers starting rowing than any other sport or club, and holds a strong position as one of the fastest Rowing clubs in Cambridge. We pride ourselves on taking students from their first strokes to representing the university. Anyone is welcome to row for Caius, so please find out more about getting involved! If you already row, and are thinking of applying to Caius, then contact caius@cucbc.org for more information and advice. Caius Boat Club is well-funded and runs a large boathouse on the River Cam, containing top-of-the-range racing shells, a fully equipped weight-lifting setup and a host of other fitness equipment.

The club also hosts an annual fireworks night, various boatie socials, regular Hall swaps with the boat clubs of other colleges and the termly Boat Club Dinners. For more information, visit the Caius Boat Club website.
